May is International Internal Audit Awareness Month. Did you know that the County’s Office of Internal Audit performs reviews of General Government and Schools processes, financial records, and technology to recommend improvements and help ensure compliance with requirements? They assist external auditors with the County’s annual financial and compliance audit to help control the cost. They also manage the County’s hotline mechanisms for reporting concerns of potential fraud, waste, or abuse in our local government operations.
