Couch to 5k (Turkey Trot edition)
Join Power Henrico and participate in the Couch to 5k (Turkey Trot edition)
Starting Monday, October 19, the couch-to-5k (Turkey Trot edition) program will begin. This will not be like an ordinary “follow the training program by yourself” program. Along with the training program to take you from the couch to finishing a 5k in 6-weeks (ending Thursday, November 26), this will also be a health coaching group! There will be weekly Microsoft Teams virtual meetings to discuss progress as well as a weekly topic to improve other wellness areas! Further details and information will be sent out at a later date but if you are interested in participating please email Joey Pacelli ([email protected]).
Back to School Photos
It is time for back to school! Share a photo of your student and how they are enjoying/adapting to the new school year for a chance to win a fun prize and be featured in next month’s County Connection. Email your photo to Christy Nealey by September 14 to be entered.
Monument Ave Virtual 10K
Run the postponed Monument Ave 10K on one of the four designated courses that include Henrico’s Dorey Park and Deep Run Park anytime September 25-27 or sign up to “virtually” run the 10K anytime on any course by October 31. Registration for the virtual race is due by 10 am on September 26. More information can be found at https://www.sportsbackers.org/events/2020-ukrops-monument-avenue-10k/

May County Connection Trivia Winner!
Congratulations to our May County Connection Trivia Winner! Demetria Edwards, Circulation Supervisor at the Sandston Branch Library, was the first person to tell us her favorite takeaway from the “Positive Experiences with Children at Home” article is to “find the calm”. THANK YOU to all who participated!
Transitioning Forward site
As the County begins to transition and reopen its doors, your health and safety is very important to us. We have created a Transitioning Forward site that covers a variety of topics like Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), social distancing, wellness and screenings, teleworking, signage, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), and a Transition Channel to show you some of the physical changes happening across the County. This is a great one stop place that provides important information and best practices for you, our employees, to know as we transition forward and how we are creating a safe working environment for our employees and for those we serve. Information on this site will be growing and changing as we move forward so check back often! If you have specific questions about how your department will be transitioning forward, please reach out to your immediate supervisor.
